Swim. Lead. Travel. Teach.

Global Flow is a leadership and employability programme that combines water safety training, personal development, and international teaching placements.

It’s designed for young people aged 18 to 25 who want to build real-world skills, gain qualifications, and become leaders — in the water, in their communities, and in the world.

What It Is?

Global Flow is more than a course. It’s a pathway.
You’ll move from developing personal confidence in the water to teaching others how to stay safe.
Along the way, you’ll gain professional qualifications, leadership training, and the chance to make an impact internationally.

You’ll also explore identity, culture, and purpose and what it means to hold space for others while standing strong in your own story.

This programme is for people who want more than just a job. It’s for those who want to lead.

  • Have completed WaveMakers or are confident in open water

  • Want to gain lifeguard or swim teacher qualifications

  • Are interested in leadership, education, community or outdoor careers

  • Are ready for a challenge that includes international travel and cultural exchange

  • Want to use their experience to uplift others

We prioritise applicants from communities underrepresented in aquatic leadership, teaching, and travel opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Open water and pool-based training

  • Lifesaving and swim teacher qualifications

  • Leadership and mentoring development

  • Workshops on culture, wellbeing, identity and global citizenship

  • 4 Week teaching placements in countries with high drowning rates

  • 1:1 coaching and peer support throughout

This isn’t just about learning to teach it’s about becoming someone people trust to guide them in life-saving, life changing spaces.

Why It Matters

Drowning is one of the leading causes of death globally but access to swim education and instructors doesn’t reach those most at risk.

Global Flow exists to build a new kind of leadership: one that reflects the world we live in.
We’re not just increasing numbers we’re changing the face of who gets to lead, teach and protect.

Beyond Qualifications

Global Flow is also about:

  • Building confidence in public speaking and facilitation

  • Exploring how identity shapes leadership

  • Understanding how to navigate global and local spaces with respect

  • Becoming a role model for younger generations

  • Opening up professional routes in sport, health, education, community and beyond

What You’ll Leave With

  • Recognised lifeguarding and/or swim teacher certification

  • Experience delivering water safety education in another country
